We’re hiring a Financial Analyst to join our team, with responsibilities spanning fund reporting, investment support, LP communications, platform operations, and internal data management. This role offers broad exposure to most aspects of investing in early-stage startups, but does NOT involve sourcing deals and does NOT prioritize co-investor networking.

‍Breakdown of Responsibilities:

‍25% Financial Reporting
- Manage internal investment tracking and fund reporting
- Coordinate with external accountants on quarterly financial statements, fund audits, and annual tax filings
- Prepare bank and regulatory compliance documents on a regular basis
‍
25% Investment Support
- Perform financial, market, product, and competitive due diligence to support investment decisions
- Draft comprehensive investment memos 
- Build financial models to forecast investment trajectories, exit outcomes, and fund performance
- Conduct general market and industry research

20% LP Reporting
- Draft and oversee quarterly LP reports, incorporating both quantitative and qualitative updates
- Manage LP communications related to taxes, capital calls, distributions, and other fund matters

20% Platform Support
- Provide spreadsheet-based support for the annual M25 Summit and Match Week events
- Conduct quantitative research for our annual Midwest Startup City Rankings

‍10% Internal Data Management
- Collect and track key financial and operating metrics from portfolio companies
- Prepare regular internal reports on portfolio company performance
- Maintain diligently organized legal documentation and valuation support for investments

‍Ideal Candidate:

- 2+ years of full-time accounting experience (required)
- Strong analytical abilities
- Strong verbal and written communications
- Extensive knowledge of Google Sheets & Slides
- Action-oriented with passion for optimization
- Resourceful problem solver (comfortable with ambiguity)
- Coding experience (preferred, not required)
- Detail-oriented
- Enjoys research
- Team player
- Driven & ambitious
- Chicago-based or open to relocation
- Minimal travel required
