Why We Invested in Immigify

Announcing our investment in Omaha-based Immigify, an AI-native platform and community bringing legal immigration services and compliance into one place for attorneys, consultants, employers and the working immigrants they all serve.

Immigify is headquartered in Omaha, NE.

Immigration status touches nearly every part of a person's life in the U.S., where they can work, whether they can travel, whether their family can join them. For employers, it touches nearly every part of the business, who they can hire, how long that person can stay, what happens if a filing deadline slips. And yet the system that manages all of this still runs on the same tools it always has: spreadsheets, email threads and a patchwork of law firms who each see a piece of the picture but never the whole thing.

Immigify was built to be the whole picture. The platform combines AI agents with workflow automation to handle eligibility screening, document collection, form preparation, compliance monitoring, and case management, and it does this for every stakeholder in the process at once, the attorney building the case, the consultant managing a portfolio of clients, the employer trying to stay compliant and the immigrant trying to understand where they stand. Instead of each party working from a different spreadsheet and hoping the others catch up, everyone works from the same system.

The company also built its go-to-market with the same instinct for how the industry actually works. Employers subscribe directly for compliance monitoring and workflow automation, while immigration professionals (attorneys, consultants, paralegals, etc) use Immigify's marketplace to take on and manage cases at scale. Two models serving the same underlying data, reinforcing each other rather than competing for the same customer.

That combination is the real story here. Emma Sheyi, Co-Founder & CEO, spent years leading enterprise product organizations at Microsoft, HPE, Ford and Rackspace before founding Immigify, his third company after two prior exits built out of Nigeria, a hosting platform and a cross-border automobile marketplace. He's also lived the immigration process himself, which shows up in how precisely the product understands what a person actually needs to know and when. Deji Adesola, Co-Founder & CTO, co-founded both of Emma's earlier companies and engineered the infrastructure behind each, and at Amazon worked on distributed systems and AI features for the company's seller-facing products. At Immigify, he's the architect behind the multi-agent AI platform handling eligibility modeling, document classification, form automation and compliance monitoring. Diana Melendez, Co-Founder & COO, spent years as an immigration paralegal and consultant before stepping into operations, guiding families and employment-based clients through some of the system's most demanding paths. That experience is embedded directly into the product: case workflows built from her study of how consultants actually work and refined with a customer advisory board she helped assemble.

“America was built on immigration, and Immigify allows compliant, legal immigration to continue to thrive for businesses, schools, consultants and individuals alike,” said Victor Gutwein, Managing Partner. “Emma and the team have incredibly relevant lived experience and have now built out powerful tools to help this critical workforce continue to power American growth.”

We're excited to back Emma, Deji and Diana as they build the platform that brings intelligence, automation and clarity to one of the most consequential and least modernized processes in the country.
